Vintage Perspective Illusion

Judging from the story accompanying this image this photograph must have been taken in the 1930s. The timing was excellent. I wonder if they got this on the first shot. I am also curious what the conversation was like working up to this shot.

Flickr user John Robinson shared this with the community under the Creative Commons license. John commented on this photo as follows,
"My uncles loved playing with cameras and even had a darkroom in the basement of the house in the picture. This is my Uncle Jim, who, last April, drove me all over Manhattan in his Buick at 86 years old. He and my Aunt Delores are hardcore New Yorkers - they have lived there since after the war, minus a decade in Tel Aviv."
Thanks for sharing John and and best wishes to Uncle Jim.

Little Wild Horse Canyon Illusion

The photo artist says the following about this image,

"Here is an optical illusion from Little Wild Horse Canyon in Goblin Valley Utah. The pictures are the same shot just one is turned upside down."
My question is which perspective is real the holes or the bumps?

Visual Paradox

This is a fun picture that might cause a second look to figure out what is actually going on.

By the way, there has been no manipulation of this photo

The Terrace Optical Illusion

This illusion was created by David MacDonald. He describes the process,
"All my images are made the same way. I create a "matrix" in CorelDRAW according to strict rules of perspective, except for the false connections. This is then brought into Photo-Paint where it is "rendered" with purpose-taken, digitally photographed textures and objects. A print-out of the matrix is used as a reference guide during photography to help ensure that the objects are photographed with the correct point of view to fit."
This illusion took "in the region of sixty purpose taken photographs."

A wonderful blend of photography and digital imaging.

Dead-end Optical Illusion, or is it?

I found this on Decksitter's Photoblog. The photo is titled Dead-end. I found this photo interesting because the title would lead one to believe that this is indeed a dead-end.

I believe however that this is an optical illusion?

If this isn't a dead-end then what is it?
