Ascending & Descending Model Illusion

Here is an actual model of Escher's Ascending & Descending. It measures Height 17.5 inches, Length 24 inches, Width 24 inches. Dave created this model and was the Overall winner in the HADD7 (Hirst Arts Design Derby) contest that recently concluded on August 30, 2012.

Real Impossible Construction?

This optical illusion is very well done. Can you guess the exact nature of this construction.

Hint: Not all seemingly 90 degree angles are even close to 90 degrees.

The Impossible Cube, Crate or Box

Sometimes the impossible is possible. I have seen this cube done in many ways. The drawing is easy but I have seen this crate actually constructed. The one of real wood is very real looking, how was it done? Actually constructed? or a photoshop creation?
